 | WELCOME TO KLWTD.COM The Key Largo Wastewater Treatment District was created by the State of Florida in June 2002. The KLWTD Board Members were elected in November 2002. The KLWTD is an Independent Utility District. Project Purpose and Scope; The purpose of this facilities plan is to define the most cost-effective, environmentally sound, and simplest implemented program for the management of existing and future wastewater pollutants that act, or will act, to deteriorate the Keys’ water quality in the Key Largo area. This plan is consistent with the Comprehensive Sanitary Wastewater Master Plan for Monroe County (CH2MHILL, 2000) in accordance with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) guidelines under PL 92-500 and the Monroe County Year 2010 Comprehensive Plan. This Facilities Plan has been adopted by the KLWTD to guide the design and construction of the KLWTD wastewater infrastructure. | |

KLWTD Transition Meeting February 10, 2010 4:00 PM All interested persons are hereby advised that the KLWTD Board Transition Meeting has been changed this month from Feb 9 to Feb 10, 2010, at 4:00 PM, at 98880 Overseas Hwy, Key Largo, FL 33037. PROPERTY OWNERS ON THE ISLAND OF KEY LARGO
The property owners and residents on the Island of Key Largo and all other interested citizens are invited to a Town Hall Meeting for information on the upcoming sewer project in their neighborhoods and/or a Connection Workshop. There will be a presentation explaining how the area will be divided up for construction. What will be expected of the contractors and what will be expected of the residents? Specific topics to be covered include: presentations of scheduling, specifications of installation for homeowners and contractors, an explanation of the assessment process. An open forum to answer questions will follow. Handouts will be provided to the attendees. The property owners and residents on the Island of Key Largo and all other interested citizens are invited to a Workshop for information on installing their residential lateral connection.
